HOW DOES CHEMOTHERAPY WORK? Chemotherapy involves taking drugs that kills cells that are dividing rapidly such as cancer cells. The most common way of having chemotherapy is by injection into a vein (intravenously or IV), but sometimes chemotherapy drugs are taken as tablets.
