Minnow Species In the area  There are three types of minnows found in Sioux county-Fat head- ( Pimephales promelas ), Chub Minnow- ( Leuciscus cephalus ) and the Stickleback- ( Gasterosteus aculeatus) .  The Fat head and the Chub are the more common minnows in the region.
