PARENTHETICAL DOCUMENTATION Documentation is the giving of credit to sources used or quoted in a research paper. Parenthetical refers to the use of parentheses for brief in-text citations used in the MLA (Modern Language Association of America) format.
PARENTHETICAL REFERENCES. Parenthetical references give credit to a source for information in your paper that isn’ t commonly known. We will be using MLA format, so the reference will usually be the name that is alphabetized on the margin in your Works Cited page.
